About Me. The Full Story.

I am an accomplished scientist, statistician, and lifelong learner, passionate about evaluation and impact assessment. With a holistic lens and relentless curiosity about human behavior, I specialize in measuring and analyzing the effectiveness of programs and interventions to drive meaningful outcomes. I thrive on collaborating with cross-functional teams and translating complex data into actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making and foster continuous improvement.

Get to Know Me Better!

As a Communicator

My professional experiences have required me to share information with a variety of audiences (scientists and non-scientists, managers and non-managers, stakeholders and constituents, and many others). My approach to communication is careful and deliberate; I tailor my message to resonate with the intended audience for maximum impact and optimal learning. I use a multi-pronged approach to communicating information that requires the recipient to be engaged in dialogue with me. I prefer to use a compelling storytelling approach to help my audiences appreciate the “big picture”, using data and critical findings to create a visual image of what I am trying to convey.

As a Leader

I grow and develop teams by selecting a diverse pool of talent and then prioritizing their success and betterment by working to support them. It is important for me to be sure that anyone I supervise has the tools and the resources needed to put forth their very best work. My teams are carefully curated and, as a leader, I ensure that every member is valued, appreciated, and heard. I also actively seek feedback from my teams to better my leadership overall. My philosophy is that a team is only as good as its leader, and I aim to be the best!

As a Visionary

In an era where phrases such as “big data”, “key metrics”, and similar terms are thrown around somewhat carelessly, I have made a commitment to walk the proverbial talk. As we think about the future and the direction in which we are headed, we need to do so based on empirical evidence. This is where I stand out as a professional and as a leader. I use data and findings to paint a picture of where the organization is headed and to provide actionable next steps for executive and senior leadership to use in the short-term and down the road. I am relentlessly curious about all things data-related, and I continually reflect on where my organization of employ is headed based on current evidence.

As a Human Being

I live in the lower Hudson Valley region of New York with my family and a menagerie of animals who are gracious enough to allow us to live in their house with them. My family inspires and motivates me every day to be more and better than I was before.

When I'm off the clock, you can usually find me outside on the deck grilling up something tasty on my Weber kettle grill, smoking a rack of ribs in the Smokey Mountain, or concocting something new and wonderful in the kitchen. I have this dream that I might one day end up on Pit Boss!

I'm also a self-confessed train buff, having spent my childhood happily playing with my grandfather's Lionel trains (all of which have been entrusted to my care). I've been working to pass the tradition on to my son who will take the throttle when the time comes. I think he may be more excited about that than I am!
